Kind of ironic that those accusing others of being Far right which appears to be anybody challenging the narrative, are actually supporting the real thing in Ukraine & Israel. Are these centrist parties throughout Europe & the UK simply offshoots of the DC Neocon / Neolib globalist Blob ? They all appear to have a huge appetite for war & according to the UN charter are complicit in the murder in the ME, as the Lancet reveals as others had already suggested that the death count amounts to around 186,000.
They don't appear to be middle of the road to me but rather extreme & in no way either classic Liberal or Left. Starmer played a role in Assange's imprisonment, he apparently has ties with Israel while some of those close to him have received donations. He was a Covid fundamentalist & is threatening to crackdown on mis/disinformation in regard among other things the vax which actually isn't a vax, while his head of the DWP Liz Kendall is threatening all out war on the disabled.
I don't know much about the Libdems but I guess that they would dish up a similar recipe to the above, while I lost all interest in the Greens due to their lack of any support for Assange & them referring to females as non-trans women. I'm guessing that people's patience with Labour won't last that long & Reform will gain more support, which considering that they are proposing the same old free market economic policies. nothing will change much for the better.
Would ditching first past the post make any real difference ? as in Europe it appears to me that the role of small parties is to cozy up to the major vote winning establishment party in order to maintain the status quo, as was & still is the case in Ireland, when Fianna Fail used both the Greens & the Irish Labour party to ensure bondholders got paid etc. Scholz I believe was elected with the help of 360 degrees Baerbock & the other loon Harbeck, representing a warmongering Green Party who are fully on board with Scholz's agreement to place medium range tomahawks on the German border, which earlier versions of the greens would have fought tooth & nail against. There was also the Nord stream nudge nudge, elbow elbow, wink wink while all the while the kids story writer & Annalena appear to be trying to return Germany to something resembling a Breughel the Younger painting.
I do worry about the possibility of the UK ending up in that gin trap called the EZ, but as I believe we are in an interregnum of sorts in which potential chaos is ever at hand, perhaps the EZ will collapse despite of & perhaps helped by the unelected Von der Liar's increasing power grabs. on behalf of the also unelected professional managerial class led Commission.
Anyhow right or wrong the above is how I roughly see & feel it.
What a brilliant comment Steve. Thank you. Seems to me there is plenty more we should talk about on the podcast. Every point you make is crying out for attention. For me, as you suggest, the Progressives whatever their earnest private beliefs and motives, act as storm-troopers for the globalist cause. It is a sadness to me that 'antiracism 'has become the battering ram for the globalist world view. And i have similar doubts to you that scrapping first past the post will effect any fundamental change. It might have a decade or more ago but now the smaller parties have been domesticated and brought safely within the broad globalist free trade hegemony. I believe we must find the courage and the belief to create new radical parties that are not part of the globalist free-trade consensus. Easier said than done I admit, but necessary nevertheless.
Apologies for a late reply due to us downsizing house wise, not helped by herself suffering a fall a couple of weeks ago after being hit in the knee by one of the dogs, which added a further burden on to me - all better now though & all nearly done, while it will be nice not to be nodding off earlier than usual in the evenings - I have a lot of stuff to catch up with
I couldn't agree more David & Roger further confirms just some of the factors why hard times are extremely likely to be on the way. Maybe enough people above the usual low hanging fruit need to have their noses rubbed in it before real change will come - many of my relatives live under the false assumption that they are above it all.
The so called exceptionalism of the West is taking a battering from it seems resting on their Laurels & perhaps Hardy's, as most of their plans appear to result in own goals - maybe it's down to hubris - “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.” - Karl Rove.
I guess the Trump near miss isn't likely to settle things down in a country where the largest cause of bankruptcy is now medical bills - coming to a town near you ? Perhaps it's part of the reason that there are many US YT channels giving out advice on health issues, some of which after sorting the wheat from the chaff were a great help in freeing me from diabetes.
I will just add this YT channel from an American working in China who posts short & to the point updates on the reality of their progress in AI, tech & all of that stuff, which of course doesn't find it's way into the BS mills of the self hollowed out empire & it's vassals.
The problem with any discussion about China is many people who oppose the way the West is being run imagine that everything the MSM says about China must be wrong. After living there for 3 years I felt like they went rather easy on them and while I of course want to see the leadership of the West toppled I wouldn't for one minute want to see the PRC become the hegemon. There are plenty of Westerners in China who make money regurgitating the CPC line. If everything was hunky dory in China I wouldn't receive messages from old students who work for Chinese public funds which say "I don't even know if there is a future, it seems as though our economy is collapsing". Chinese student numbers at British universities are back up this year because there is such a huge problem with youth unemployment there.
One can only hope that Trump can replace the Karl Rove's of this world.
While Assange of course was treated terribly by various governments I couldn't help but remember that he gleefully released the BNP membership list to the media back in the 00s. The BNP were the only party opposing mass immigration back then and it had many decent people as members who felt politically homeless elsewhere. Those people faced job losses, social ostracism and death threats after their names were leaked. I wonder if he has reflected on that now since it must surely be obvious that mass immigration is pure neoliberalism.
It's Complicated - busted clocks being correct twice a day & nobodies perfect - as for the BNP I agree on immigration, but those who I went to my last of 9 schools with who were initially NF who ended up in the BNP, who put me in hospital after kicking me around the floor in a Chinese takeaway that left me with 2 missing molars & 3 broken ribs, I'm not too partial about keeping such company. This was later followed by a near miss from another one of these characters in a pub while I was playing pinball when fortunately my reflexes alerted by a flash of light from the approaching broken beer glass. only resulted in a scratch down the side of my neck.
Both incidents were in no sense political they were simply revenge attacks based on me stopping them bullying kids at school, which was something I had previously often suffered from myself - the above incidents resulted in me getting completely out of Dodge ( Stoke, where the BNP set up shop )
As for the hegemon contest can they be worse than the Neocon, World Bank, IMF led West ? I dunno & I guess we will have to wait & see & as I stated above the channel IMO is interesting mainly in regard to tech, economic info.
Incidentally as you likely know the immigration issue is massive in ROI as the floodgates have been opened, while Sinn Fein who were on a roll have suffered a large setback due to their backing of it, which of course leads to the likelihood that the 2 sides of the same sandwich Fianna Fail & Gael will likely be able to maintain their stranglehold while doing the EU's bidding.
My daughter lives in Blessington Wicklow where within 5 miles of her two derelict buildings that were renovated for migrant accommodation have been torched, as part of a much larger & widespread movement.
Dublin now has a tent city & is in general a much degraded city in comparison to the one I knew about 25 years ago.
How do you guys feel about this false battle between right and left. In light of the shocking anti Jew and anti white racism recently? Not to mention the general hatred between all cultures which seems to be picking up steam.
Good article here from John Gray - I don't always agree with him on everything, he's quite wrong about Ukraine here - but he points out that Reform have broken with neoliberalism in certain ways:
"Writing off student debt for every year medical staff work for the NHS, scrapping interest payments on student loans, bringing 50 per cent of utilities into public ownership, taxing multinational companies to fund relief for small- and medium-sized businesses, active government involvement in the defence industry."

I think this from the horse's mouth illustrates that there are considerable problems in China: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNQ9eOluWKs
I don't doubt that there is & my posting of that channel is only due to how in certain areas China is stealing a March on the self hollowed out West.

What can one say about a narrative. But that it's not a conscious activity. Has great power. And acts for the people possessed by it.
